Publish Pages to the Web

This feature is available to users on all plans

You can publish a page in a note and share the link with anyone for easy viewing. A published page can be viewed by anyone via the link, even without a MeisterTask account, making it very easy to share information with your team and collaborators. Pages are not indexed by search engines and can only be accessed via the link.

  2. Click on the web icon in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Click Open Preview to review the page.
  4. Confirm Publish Page.

If you're unable to see the icon in the right sidebar, check that you are viewing a page or subpage within a note. Open the left sidebar to access pages or create new ones. The feature is only available at the page level, not on the note’s cover page.

Note

Only active pages can be published. Archived or deleted pages cannot be published. Archiving or deleting a note automatically unpublishes all pages within that note.

How to Update a Public Page

Note Contributors and Content Managers can update public pages.

As you make changes to the content, the page will not update automatically. To publish any changes that you made:

  1. Open the page.
  2. Click on the web icon in the right bottom corner.
  3. Click Update.

How to Unpublish a Page

  2. Click on the web icon in the bottom-right corner.

Note

Unpublishing deactivates the link. If you republish the page again, the link remains exactly the same, so users with the original link can regain access.

Publishing History

Both published and unpublished pages have a publishing history, which can be found in the right sidebar. To view the history, click the web icon in the bottom-right corner. The publishing history contains the following details:

  • Who published the page
  • Who last updated the page
  • When was the page published
  • When was the last update
  • Who unpublished the note
  • When was the note unpublished

If a page is unpublished and then republished, the previous publishing history is cleared, showing only the most recent publishing data.

What Can Viewers See?

Anyone on the web with the link can see the page. The viewers see:

  • Cover image
  • Icon
  • Headings
  • Text (e.g., checklists, info blocks, etc.)
  • Table of contents
  • Any image files or external embedded links (e.g., YouTube video)
  • Public mind maps
  • Links

Viewers cannot see:

  • Embedded tasks, non-public mind maps or lists of pages are not available. These blocks are hidden behind a placeholder so that they cannot be read.
  • Viewers cannot edit, duplicate or leave comments on the page.
  • Comments remain hidden are not included in the public note.
  • Parent pages and subpages are not published and remain hidden.

How Can I Check Whether a Page Has Been Published?

Published pages have an icon above the title.

How To Check if a Page Has Been Modified?

Take a look at the web icon in the bottom-right corner. If the icon displays a red dot, this means that the page has been changed and the public page needs to be updated to reflect the changes.

Can Pages Be Published From the Mobile App?
