Add discussions and comments to notes to communicate with your team members and share feedback.
What are Discussions?
Discussions offer a way for team members to exchange ideas without directly editing shared notes. Start a discussion to communicate with others, share feedback and alert other team members of important information by mentioning them.
You can view a note's active discussions by clicking the discussions icon on the right sidebar. Content blocks that include discussions are marked with a yellow icon which displays the number of discussions and comments still open on that block.
View Open Discussions
You can view all open discussions on a note by clicking the discussions icon on the right sidebar:
Click Reply below any discussion to view all comments in the discussion and jump to the content block it references:
A yellow icon will appear next to any content which is the subject of an open discussion. Click this icon to view the discussion.
Start a New Discussion
To start a new discussion on a specific segment of text:
- Highlight the text you wish to start a discussion on.
- Click the add discussion icon in the pop-up menu.
- Type your new comment and press ENTER.
To start a new discussion on an entire content block:
- Hover your mouse over the block you wish to comment on.
- Click the add discussion icon on the right-hand side of the comment.

Type in your new comment and press ENTER.
Resolve a Discussion
You can resolve any discussion to remove it from your note's list of open discussions. To do this:
- Open a discussion.
- Click the Resolve icon in the top-right corner of the discussion thread (see below).
View Resolved Discussions
Resolved discussions are stored indefinitely. To view all resolved discussions in a note:
- Click the discussions icon on the right sidebar.
- Click the small arrow next to Open Discussions.
- Select Resolved Discussions from the drop-down menu.
Mention Users in Discussions
Use the @ key to mention other team members in a comment. The mentioned user will receive a notification. To mention another user:
- Create a new comment (see above) or add to an existing discussion.
- Type @, then select the user you'd like to mention from the drop-down menu.
- Press ENTER.
